क्रॉस-ट्रैक इन्फ्रारेड साउंडर (CrIS) नेशनल पोलर-ऑर्बिटिंग ऑपरेशनल एनवायरनमेंटल सैटेलाइट सिस्टम (NPOESS) प्रोग्राम के लिए विकास के अंतर्गत आने वाले प्रमुख उपकरणों में से एक है। CrIS एक इंटरफेरोमेट्रिक साउंडिंग सेंसर है जो बहुत उच्च वर्णक्रमीय रिज़ॉल्यूशन पर पृथ्वी विकिरण को मापता है और वायुमंडलीय तापमान और नमी के ऊर्ध्वाधर प्रोफाइल के निर्माण के लिए निष्क्रिय माइक्रोवेव इंस्ट्रूमेंटेशन के डेटा के साथ संयुक्त इन डेटा का उपयोग करता है।
